About

Becky Simpson is a creative director, artist, and educator in Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently the creative director at Tubby Todd Bath Co.

She is also an author, speaker and creator of Destination Illustration, a course for illustrators.

Becky’s work fuses her passions for connection, process and play.

She got her start in a small town in the middle of Iowa, where she was born and raised. Her favorite books growing up were The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and Amelia’s Notebook by Marissa Moss.

After studying graphic design at Iowa State University and graduating in 2010, she moved to Texas, landed her first job, then wrote and illustrated her first book, I’d Rather Be Short (Plume Books). Before she knew it, she gave birth to her second book, The Roommate Book (Andrews McMeel).

Becky was one of Adobe's inaugural Creative Residents (2015-2016). During this time, she built and launched her store, Chipper Things, and shared her process along the way.

Becky is available for projects, speaking and leading workshops.
